Northern State University
Northern Normal and Industrial School was established by the South Dakota Legislature in 1901. The institution later changed its name to Northern State College and finally to Northern State University in 1989. Located in Aberdeen, South Dakota, NSU is a Division II school that competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
